Job Description
- Performs the statutory duties of the ventilation officer for two underground mines:
- Conduct vent surveys as required
- Update ventilation plans as required
- Maintains a good working knowledge of the following relevant provisions applicable to the mine:
- Ghanaian Mines Regulations;
- All Internal Safety, Health and Environmental Standards;
- Ensures that all employees including contract employees comply with the provisions of the regulations and internal safety, health and environmental standards.
- Records all non-compliances
- Plans, manages and control of all aspects of the mine ventilation (secondary and primary) at two underground mines.
- Updates and maintains the ventilation simulation models (Ventsim)
Required Skills or Experience for this job position:
- BSc. Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of two years working experience in a similar organisation
- Motivated team player.
- Ability to think laterally and to provide engineering solutions.
