Job Position Description:
Purpose:To assist with the development of the company’s engineering apprenticeship and workplace training programs by providing inputs and feedbacks to the engineering manager and stakeholders.
Roles:
- Offer Support and assistance in the development of the company’s trainees
- Assist the engineering department in all training needs and liaise with external training providers to improve the skills of engineering staff.
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of skills training programmes for engineering staff.
- Provide experience based advice.
- Work to establish and maintain an ongoing relationship with engineering apprentices.
- Provide performance feedback and direction to the Apprentices
- Document monthly meetings and progress.
- Assist the apprentices in developing and implementing the related instructions and on the job training program.
- Discuss and provide support and guidance in dealing with issues and challenges that occur in the workplace.
Required Skills or Experience
- First Degree or HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position in the mining industry
- Willingness to share wisdom and knowledge gained from personal experience.
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Computer literate, outlook, word, excels and power point.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, lesson plan development and presentation skills.
- Willingness to assist others in developing skills and knowledge.
- Commitment to providing support and direction to apprentices
- Tolerant and respectful of individual differences.
- Ability to balance personal and professional commitments.
- Must be able to liaise with external training providers and internal stakeholders.
