Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Mine General Foreman and will direct and control under limited supervision, daily and long-term activities for the mining activities in the open pit area.
- Ensure the department's compliance with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, lending institutions, shareholders' interests, environmental, health & safety legislation and company regulation
- Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness productivity and operating costs
- Execute short and long term mine plans and oversee all mining activities
- Coordinate the maintenance of mine equipment with the Maintenance Department
- Analyze daily production and cost data to ensure the Mine is operating within overall production and budget forecasts
Required Skills or Experience
- A degree in Mine Engineering or related field
- Must have a minimum 5 years of mining experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
- Need to have a current Ghanaian Mine Foreman Certificate
- Strong presentation, facilitation, consultation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate strong supervisory, verbal and written communication skills
