Announcement of Vacancy for the position of Econometrician in the Department of Economics of Alliance of Cocoa Producing Countries (COPAL) Lagos, Nigeria.
The Acting Secretary General of Alliance of Cocoa Producing Countries (COPAL) sends his compliments to all members countries and has the honour to announce the vacancy for the position of Econometrician of COPAL.
Duties of the Econometrician:
Under the supervision of the Head of Economic Department, the duties and the required competencies of the Econometrician are:

Duties of the Econometrician:
Under the supervision of the Head of Economic Department, the duties and the required competencies of the Econometrician are:
- Collect information on production, consumption, prices and grindings of cocoa from member countries;
- Follow the trend of production of all cocoa producing countries (Members and Non-Members alike);
- Assist the Head of Economic Department to prepare documents for General Assembly and other related conferences/meetings of the Alliance;
- Participate in the drafting and editing economic articles to be published in the Alliance's Weekly Bulletin on the cocoa situation in producing countries;
Required Skills or Experience
The criteria for the selection of the Econometrician are stated as follows:
- Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a member country of the Alliance
- Age: Candidate must preferably be over 30 years
- Candidate must have a minimum of Masters Degree from a recognized University or College in Economics with bias in Econometrics
- Candidate must have held responsible position with at least 5 years experience in related fields
- Good knowledge in English or French, the two principal working languages of the Alliance
- Should have experience and ability in drafting of reports;
- Must be conversant or have good knowledge of econometrics and analysis
- Should be highly computer literate and have working knowledge in the use of power-point, excel, and words;
- Undertake such other functions that the Secretary General and Head of Economics Department may assign
