Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the general manager in regards to any processing operations.
The paint technicians’ work may include the chemical and physical analysis of paints, with regard to the type of elements and their quantitative composition. For this task, paint technicians must make use of highly developed apparatus and equipment.

Responsibilities and Requirements
Must be able to carry out Research and Development to come out with new paint products:

•  Must be able to institute quality control procedure during processing
•  Must submit regular production reports for management action
•  Must be able to document and observe Standard operation procedures.
•  Must  supervise  and train production staff on the job and outside
•  Must be able to enter production records
•  Should be punctual and ready to work for long hours and on Saturdays
•  Must be honest, dependable and have good inter personal skills
•  Must have organizational skills and production planning experience
•  Must be able to assist in plant installation and factory layout
•  Research and formulate different types of paints and related products 

Research
Must be able to research and develop new and existing types of paints, with the purpose of improving or changing them to the advantage of the customer and the producer.
Since this is a specialized field, experience and knowledge of the subject concerned with research is required  
Must not be colour-blind. A scientific aptitude, an interest in calculations and ability to reason analytically are essential. Paint technicians must be methodical and accurate in their work and they must find laboratory work interesting.  Must be familiar with this subject, keep abreast of new development and be able to function independently.

Required Skills or Experience

Selection criteria:

• Short listing of successful applicants CV followed by an interview.

Minimum Qualification:

• The successful applicant should be a graduate in Chemical Engineering or have a post graduate diploma in chemical Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years working experience in a paint manufacturing industry.
