Job Description
Level: Gs5                             Duration of Contract: Initial one year (Renewable)    
             Type of Appointment: FTA

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Associate, PMSU and the overall supervision of the DCD (O). the incumbent is responsible for managing projects financial data in Atlas and for providing the relevant training to project staff whenever required. The Programme Finance Assistant works in close collaboration with the Operations, Management Support and Business Development, Programme and other teams in the CO and with UNDP HQs staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery

Main Duties:
  • Proper control of the supporting documents for payments, preparation of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports for NEX/DEX projects; processing of PO and non-PO vouchers for development projects
  • Processing of transactions, ensuring that they are correctly recorded and posted in Atlas in conformity with the internal expenditures control sytem
  • Timely corrective actions on erroneous data in Atlas
  • Monitor the allocations and use of TRAC 2 resources to ensure their full and efficient use
  • Contribute to the preparation and conduct of audits for programmes and projects
  • Assist and liaise with the Coordinating authority, as the implementing partner, for the implementation of the Annual work Plan in support to CPAP implementation
Required Skills or Experience
  • A Higher National Diploma in Accounting and/or Management from a recognized institution. He/she should in addition to the above, have a good understanding of programme procedures. At least three years work experience in a similar field
