Purpose of the job: Abosso GoldFields Ltd, Damang Gold Mine, is a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited and located in a tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana. This Mine is a world-class operation, consisting of large-scale open pits and CIL Metallurgical Plant. The operation has a mining rate of around 25 Mtpa and a processing rate of 5.2 Mtpa ore. Abosso Gold Fields Damang Mine is seeking to engage the services of Geologist on fixed term contract basis. Reporting directly to the Senior and Sectional Exploration
Geologists, he/she will work within objectives of the department and ensure budgetary constraints are adhered to by meeting deadlines without jeopardising the quality of the Exploration Geology service provided. He/she will maintain a safe and friendly environment and ensure that effective geological standards and procedures are followed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements

Key Responsibilities:
- Logging of RC Chip samples
- Diamond Drilling core logging
- Supervision and management of core yard samplers
- BSc or Diploma in Geology or Geological Engineering
- At least one year geological experience in the mining or exploration field
- Experience with Hydrothermal and Palaeoplacer gold mineralisation
- Have a quality focus and high standards of work
- Have strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Hold a valid Ghanaian drivers license
