Job Description
The successful candidate will implement environmental monitoring programs in accordance with internationally accepted protocols, interpret environmental data and produce applicable reports.
- Responsible for all environmental monitoring activities of the department in accordance with the monitoring schedule
- Ensure proper and accurate chain of custody of samples from field staff to laboratory
- Develop SOP's and conduct calibration of all environmental monitoring equipment
- Ensure measurement and monitoring of water and non-water environmental aspects
- Regularly review technology, analytical methods, monitoring equipment and facilities with respect to quality assurance and control reporting
Required Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or other science related Field such as hydrology or engineering
- At least 2 years environmental experience working in mining or related industrial operations
- Excellent verbal written English communication skills; fluent in Twi language is advantageous
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft word, Excel, database management and GIS experience
- Must have a strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a valid Ghanaian Driver's License B
