Job Description
To be based in the GWI Wa office. The incumbent will report to the CRS Head of Programmes.
Purpose: The GWI co-ordinator will lead the CRS-Led consortium on the project which aims to support the sustainable and equitable delivery of potable water and improved sanitation to vulnerable rural communities in Ghana.

- Provide dynamic leadership, technical support and team co-ordination to the GWI-Ghana consortium and effectively liaise with all GWI programme constituents
- Ensure for optimal program quality and efficient delivery of GWI activities according to the decisions made by senior management of the GWI partners (Project Steering Committee), the Regional Strategy Committee (RSC) and the Cluster Leader
- Ensure that all GWI partners pursue a programme of continual learning, documenting and capitalising on GWI experiences
- Represent the GWI program locally and nationally to Government, decentralised authorities, NGOs, private sector, etc, and to existing and potential donors as appropriate
- Ensure the security and efficient management of all resources available to GWI to deliver the Programme
- Provide an effective reporting interface with the Regional GWI Secretariat and donor, including implementation of agreed regional Monitoring and Evaluation programme
- Support the emergency network of actors engaged in the water sector
- Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of staff within the GWI team, linking to the procedures of the individual partner organisations
- Design and deliver a communications programme to communicate the work of GWI nationally and locally, ensuring for visibility of the GWI brand
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Required Skills or Experience
- A Masters Degree or Postgraduate/specialised training in hydrogeology, agricultural or civil engineering field in water resources management or other related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years technical experience in Water, Sanitation nd Environmental Sanitation in developing contexts
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in development projects preferably in WASH project planning, monitoring and evaluation, at a supervisory level
- Strong knowledge of the decentralization policy in Ghana and PHAST approaches
- Proven team co-ordination skills and ability to work independently; Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Proven analytical skills, demonstrated creativity in analysis of situations and data
- Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, problem solving, effective communication and negotiating skills
- Proven experience in budgeting and budget management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, cultural sensitivity, ability to work with people, good judgment and commitment to the Agency's mission
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, etc)
- Willingness to travel in-country and internationally as required by the Agency
- Prior experience in Consortium management
- Professional Proficiency in French
