Job Description
Villa Monticello is a brand new premier boutique hotel situated in one of the most exclusive areas in Accra, Ghana. Conveniently located to Kotoka International Airport and in easy walking distance to one of Accra’s exclusive shopping areas, this property is ideal for both business and leisure travellers.

ROLE OBJECTIVE
We are seeking an outgoing, well spoken and well presented individual with a positive attitude to work closely with the Executive Chef and Hotel Manager in preparing the restaurant for buffet, room service and a la carte service. This will include the organisation of wait and support staff, preparation of production lists, function sheets and other special requirements, including supervision of, preparation and set up/clearing of service and dining areas for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also be expected to supervise and train wait and floor staff on a daily basis whilst monitoring their performance.  Additional duties, such as seating of guests, will be required as and when directed by the Manager and Executive Chef.

HOURS OF WORK
  •  Variable hours over a 7 day rotating roster
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Manager and Executive Chef in all phases of restaurant operations
  • Contribute to help achieve and to set objectives within department
  • Maintain the highest standards of preparation, presentation and cleanliness
  • Demonstrate effective management of wait and support staff within prescribed guidelines
  • Ensure hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with current legislation and Villa Monticello policies and procedures
  • Supervise and direct support staff in performance of general restaurant and equipment cleaning, under initiative and as required
REMUNERATION PACKAGE

  •  Commensurate with experience and negotiable
Required Skills or Experience
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
  • Ideally possess a degree preferably in Hospitality
  • Minimum of two year’s experience in the hotel or hospitality industry
  • Minimum of two year’s experience in a similar role
  • A good knowledge of different wines would be advantageous
  • Possess outstanding customer service skills
  • Possess strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be able to respond effectively to changing demands
  • Be calm and tolerant under pressure
  • Able to work off own initiative
  • Be discreet and diplomatic when dealing with difficult situations/individuals
  • Good organisational and excellent time management skills
  • Be always well presented
